We offer school and home-based Occupational Therapy services in the North San Antonio suburbs tailored to your child's needs.
We take a holistic approach to occupational therapy, addressing the physical, emotional, and social needs of each child. Our goal is to help your child achieve their goals and maximize their potential, whether in school or at home.
We believe one cannot separate emotional development from the physical development of the body, that they must be addressed simultaneously for true growth and optimal development.
We combine our understanding of the body and all of its systems with a relationship based model to create a comprehensive, personalized plan for each individual and their family.
We offer occupational therapy services from birth to 21 in schools and around central Texas.
Occupational therapy might be a fit if:
You have concerns about your child’s motor skills, sensory processing, and/or regulatory skills.
Your child has trouble in social interactions and every day activities.
Your child struggles coping with daily stressors, has anxiety, ADHD, or emotional dysregulation.
Taryn has been working as a licensed pediatric occupational therapist since 2012. She has worked in a variety of settings including the schools, hospitals, clinic, and home-based. Eight of those years were spent working in public schools helping children with sensory processing challenges and physical challenges gain more control over their bodies and engage in the world around them. In 2024, she founded Kids Can Do with the mission of creating a space to support both children and parents utilizing a holistic, integrated approach of the mind and body to support physical and emotional development and overall wellness.
Taryn has extensive diagnostic and intervention experience with children of all ages. She believes in the importance of play and works hard to connect with each child and their family to achieve their individual goals. As the mother of two young children, Taryn believes in providing families with practical strategies that can be easily incorporated into their daily routine to improve their child’s independent functioning. Taryn also understands the challenges that parenting young children can bring and believes that many situations can be resolved more quickly through understanding and education. She strives to help parents understand the “why” behind the challenging behaviors or struggles they are experiencing.
Areas of special interest include reflex integration (MNRI), sensory processing, emotional development, learning disorders, and visual processing disorders. Taryn utilizes a holistic approach in working with her clients and aims to strengthen the mind-body connection in all of her clients. She has special interest in nutrition and its impacts on regulation, overall wellness, and daily functioning.
Advanced training includes primitive reflex integration, sensory integration, neuro-developmental treatment (NDT), visual-motor, and graphomotor interventions. Taryn is a graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch and has an undergraduate degree in painting from Herron School of Art and Design.
